Envision yourself standing at the pinnacle of aviation – an air traffic control tower that offers panoramic views of a bustling class charlie airspace. On June 2nd, a few members from Chapter 320 got to do just that, and at Wisconsin’s very own Dane County Regional Airport (KMSN).
Those that participated in the tour gained some background knowledge on the skillset it takes to safely direct aircraft into a busy airport. Including a peek from the observation deck, some insight on the technology that air traffic controllers utilize, and the different job roles that take place within the tower.
The group even got a little bonus treat and got to view an AV-8B Harrier II and the EAA’s very B-25 Mitchell “Berlin Express.” It was a fun day for the crew and a once in a lifetime experience!
